ie7 information bar no longer shows

The information bar on IE7 for all users with our staff GPO no longer shows. I can't figure out what I might have done to stop it from being displayed. Had a look in all the Internet Explorer components in the GPO and the only things set are the phising filter and the disable the first run. Any where else I should be looking?

By information bar I mean the bit that pops up along the top when trying to download a file, or an active x tries to run etc.

Have you disabled the pop-up blocker?

First up do you have the IE7 admin templates installed on the machine that your using to configure the GP settings.

 

Second thing to check are the setting in:

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Component > Internet Explorer > Security Features > Information Bar

and

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Component > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Pannel > Security Page : Turn on Information Bar notification

 

You may want to use the RSOP snapin or GP managment console to make sure that these have not been configured in another higher policy and have been inherited.

Yep, got them installed

Its set to not configured

 

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Component > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Pannel > Security Page : Turn on Information Bar notification

 

Same, not configured, but is that not for intranet stuff only?
