rolfea Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 This really isn't important so I thought I should post this thread in here rather than the Mac one, really like to know out of curiosity more than anything. Whilst taking things apart next to my Imac G5 intel blah blah this year's model, I found that a screw was stuck to the black surface around the edge of the screen. I then experimented moving the screw all the way round the screen and found there were about 14 different magnetic spots round the screen. What are these for? I thought maybe a anti glare screen that just stuck to the front or is he glass panel in front of the LCD stuff on with magnets? As I said, not important but REALLY like to know.
mrforgetful Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Hardware forum? On a (slightly) related note my grandad once got me to stick a magnet on the TV...
rolfea Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 Hardware forum? It's not exactly a problem, in fact its not really that important. I'm just curious.

localzuk Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 The latest gen ones don't have that feature any more. Only the white 1st gen and 2nd/3rd gen ones do. (ie. the white ones).
rolfea Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 quite dissapointed, I want to try and stick my remote to it. back to the magnetic bits around the outside edge of the screen, on the black outer section.
