So what impact now we got a new education minister Alan Johnson...

 

As can see to certain degree he position as part of cabinet looks like it was to keep some back bencher's happy as he was trade unionist in former life and also the fact he got top up fees bill through for labour party. So it looks like tony blair wants him to do same for education bill etc et

 

Also now ruth kelly has taken helm at local goverment what does that mean in terms of on going strike talks...

 

While good that prescott not so involved as he was always worrying about bowing down to trade group.

 

But will ruth kelly use the strike as chance to prove herself again and take a stand against them hopefully latter as she wont want a public dispute not after trouble she has had..

I would not be surprised if the LGA aided by Ruth Who backtrack on their negotiations re Pensions now that the local elections are done & dusted. I reckon they were scared about potential disruption of elections by unions & that was why they started talking.
