RADIUS and local XP user account

Hi,

 

We have implemented RADIUS (IAS) with PEAP on our wireless network. It works fine for domain user accounts and when we log into a laptop as a local user account we can connect to the school network and browse.

 

The only problem is that the laptop continuously attempts to authenticate the local user with IAS and fails as it is not a domain user.

 

I have set the Computer Authentication in the IEE 802.1.x settings as "Computer Only" and this removes the problem.

 

Anyone know if there is a way to use "With user re-authentication" and to stop the continuous local user and IAS authentication taking place as we wish to use computer and account authentication ?.

Why bother with user reauthentication? what does it acheive?
