Gonk Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Hi All, One of the SMT has a Sony Vaio VGN-AR51M laptop... low and behold, its out of warranty. Does anyone know of where I can source spares for it? I'm after the HDD Connector board and cable. I've spoken to Sony and I'm against giving them £200 to look at the problem and 'possibly' fix it. Thanks in advance, Ross
RabbieBurns Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Ive got a viao at home, not sure which model off hand, that the power socket on the laptop has broken. The 2 pins that protrude that make a connection to the plug from the AC have been bent and finally snapped. Again, its out of warranty and I dont really want to spend a load on it if i can just get a new socket and maybe solder it onto the mobo.

I solved the problem by buying a docking station for £40 off ebay. It has its own power socket on it
