Snuffkins Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Not sure if anyone can help me with this. I'm having a lot of trouble using Konica Minolta 5430's on a Windows network. Since installing them on the network we keep getting data execution prevention for a spooler subsystem. I've added it to the list of apps not too block but it still has the issue. Jobs disappearing from print queues and going nowhere etc etc. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, Phill
Geoff Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Firstly, disable DEP. It doesn't work. MS implemented it wrong. Secondly, have you tried looking for an updated driver?
Snuffkins Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 How do you disable DEP? We are using the latest driver for the printer, but we're trying a firmware update on them
Geoff Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/prodtech/windowsxp/depcnfxp.mspx Altering the boot.ini is probably the best if you need to do it network wide. /noexecute=allwaysoff needs adding to the switches.
Mintsoft Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 We have trouble with our two 5430DL's on our windows 2003 server. They randomly stop in the middle of printjobs with a little pop "error: CMP_EXEC" that when you click ok comes BACK! The only way for me to clear it off is to restart the spooler service. When I contacted Minolta about it, they said it "was something to do with RM, contact them and they'll know" ¬_¬ Not had any trouble with the one on the 2000 server though. -Mint
