Steven Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Hi, How can the Programs menu be disabled from been opened into explorer view for example Start > Programs > Microsoft Office if you double clicked that it would show up in explorer view Thanks steven.
FN-GM Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I think if you restrict access to the C drive it will cure it. Z
WithoutMotive Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I don't think that's a solution, FN-GM. We've had that problem for years. I wouldn't call it a problem because they can only see other area and not actually do anything with them. I think originally I posted it on here and people told me it was one of those things that happens and can't really be resolved so I've just lived with it. This is, of course, assuming that the OP meant a redirected Start Menu, as is our setup. Restricting access to C: would work if it was local, I should expect.
Benji1 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I fixed this a while back. To solve this I have a script that copies the start menu items to the C drive of the local machine at start up and then the group policy points at the folder on the C drive. If your other polices are set correctly it works like a dream. I can't remember the finer details at the mo but If you want further details just PM me.
