[sims] FMS Share violation

can any one shed any light on the following error?

 

Share violation

File: d:\program files\sims\FMSSQL\Del4.MB

Table: d:\program files\sims\FMSSQL\Del4.MB

File or directory does not exist.

File: d:\program files\sims\FMSSQL\Del4.DB

 

The del.mb files are created by each user whilst trying to query data (I think), they can be called anything from del1.mb up over e.g I've saw a del284.mb

Old thread is old, however I'm reviving it so you know Im not alone...

 

I have the exact same error message as above with file names ranging from 1-6 and probably higher if i sat there and tested each room. The user is trying to do an asset report using Finance to show assets per location (room) when double clicking a room or selecting to view a room the error pops up. As far as i know everything else is fine in that the user hasnt mentioned any other part of SIMS/FMS playing up.

 

Is there any info on this at present?

 

All staff users are local administrators and the rest of finance works fine. Im pretty sure it isnt a permissions thing since if it was then finance would error at logon due to access/modify rights on the PDOXUSERS file and since the user is a local admin she should have full access to the C drive.

 

(Only selected machines have this level of access purely for the finance module, its not ideal but it works and with workstation images the damage is limited.)

What version of FMS, where is your NET dir pointing PDOXUSRS to? What OS?

Apologies for digging this old thread up, but I've just set up a SIMS/FMS training room in our Local Authority where the Finance.exe is shared out via Citrix and each user logs into a different database.

Each user tries to access the same part of the FMS application, for example, "Establishment Details", but all get the del#.mb sharing violation error. If they keep trying they eventually load Establishment Details once they get a higher numbered del.mb file (which are stored in C:\Program Files\SIMS\FMSSQL) on the XenApp server. I've tried configuring each user to have their own LOCKDIR in their own folder, but it didn't fix it. I've also tried pointing everyone to the same LOCKDIR, but again, no joy. All users have read/write/modify access.

Thanks for your info. Would you be able to suggest the best route for me to take with this? Each concurrent user access the same FMSSQL directory, and in doing so, this is where all the DEL files are created. Do you think each user needs their own FMSSQL folder when they launch FMS? Or do you think my pdoxusers file is not correctly configured for access by the users?

Create a separate application directory for each user, and to place the pdoxusers in the default location of c:\programdata\fms
