Neville Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 We would like to import our Active Directory users onto our sharepoint server using the ADAM application which sits in our dmz, we have opened the two ports on our firewall which need to be opened but it still isin't working. Does anybody have any experience in importing users using ADAM onto a sharepoint server which sits in a dmz as we would like the same userid's that we use for our active directory to be used when loggin onto the sharepoint server.
User3204 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Have you used ADAM to authenticate users on another application ? IE, do you know if it is working, or whether it is Sharepoint not working with it ? It should just work the same way as the standard ADUC, although I can see that Sharepoint might have issues with using non-standard ports. I had a look at ADAM, when we were introducing SIMS Learning Gateway, but in the end it was going to be easier to just have the server directly connected to the AD domain, both the LA and we have separate firewalls, so we should be protected from anything bad from the internet, it's open to HTTP and HTTPS ports only.
