laputa01 Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Hey Guys, Been racking my brain with this one all night. I'm trying to prepare my AD Schema on our Exchange server. I m running the exchange server on Windows 2003 64bit and my AD is sitting on a Windows 2003 server. When i try to execute the 'setup /prepareschema' command i get a pop up box with the message 'Go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components.' I have installed .net 2.0 with service pack, Powershell, and Windows 2003 SP2. I m in the middle of installing .Net 3.0 to see if that makes a difference. Any assistance would be very helpful.
mattstevenson2005 Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 make sure you have installed the windows 9 encoder series
MrEprise Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 You need to ensure you prefix the 'setup' command with the drive letter and path of the exchange 2007 install disc or network location (e.g. d:\setup.exe) or otherwise Windows will assume you're running Windows Setup and moan about starting it from Control Panel.
