Senior Enterprise Systems Specialists: Data Centre Specialist

London - Westminster

 

Department: Parliamentary ICT

Starting salary: £31,350 per annum, pay award pending

Vacancy: 1x Permanent – Full Time

 

PICT's goal is to achieve world class standards in the delivery, support and exploitation of ICT for Parliament.

 

PICT is Parliament's first Joint Department, serving both Houses as the provider of ICT services and as a business partner working with the administrations to build infrastructure and systems which enable Parliament to work effectively and to connect with the public.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to work as part of a team to renew the Parliamentary ICT Infrastructure (including the Data Centre environment, server hardware, operating systems and enterprise) and provide the framework to support innovation, flexibility and agility; enabling PICT to fully meet the changing and demanding requirements of Parliament.

 

You will assist in the management and operation of the ICT infrastructure and the resources required to plan for, develop, deliver and support properly engineered ICT services and products to meet the needs of the business.

 

This includes preparation for new or changed services, management of the change process

and maintenance of regulatory, legal and professional standards.

 

Your skills, knowledge and experience should include:

 

* Server Hardware and APC Devices

* Data Centre Environmental Services (e.g. Air Conditioning and Power Supply) and Data Centre monitoring

* Network Cabling and Enclosures

* Network Infrastructure Devices (e.g. Switches and Routers)

* Server Operating Systems including Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003

* Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to prioritise to meet deadlines and strong interpersonal skills
