craigy2302 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Hey, I was wondering if anybody knows of any program that offers one-click mounting of an iso? I have some iso's that I want to make available, and I havn't got the time to show all the staff how to use say daemon tools on how to mount the images. Does anybody have any ideas?
Midget Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Microsoft made "Virtual CD Control Panel" that might be of use to you 1
craigy2302 Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 Thanks. My problem is that the maths department have a casio calculator emulator, that they want to be able to use on any pc. And you know what departments are like with cds.... The only problem is the fact that there is a silly check to see if you have the cd. So I trying everything to fix the blasted thing

BBrian Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Daemonscript too, though I had trouble having the latest two versions working together, now using the second-to-newest version of Daemon Tools.

quiet_andy Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I have just been asked to look into this and the idea of creating an image and mounting seems fine. One slight problem, I am unable to create an image of the disc, keeps coming back with an L-EC Uncorrectable Error. Any ideas?
Guest TheLibrarian Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 It's either copy protection or a damaged disc. Some products can be told to ignore errors when reading to an image (CDBurnerXP if memory serves), if it's not copy protection though you just end up with a partially working image that has corrupt files on it somewhere.
Arthur Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 One slight problem, I am unable to create an image of the disc, keeps coming back with an L-EC Uncorrectable Error. Which program are you using to create the image? You may want to try either ISOBuster or ISOPuzzle. Both programs will skip the bad parts of the disc.
Arthur Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 My problem is that the maths department have a Casio calculator emulator I know this is a really old thread, but I thought I would post a solution after being given the same program (v4.00) by our maths department last week. I am going to assume that @craigy2302 either got it working or gave up in the intervening 6+ years, but hopefully these instructions help someone else in the future. This is what I did: Insert disc and run fxESPLUS.exe. When the main menu appears select the calculator emulator to install. In our case it was the fx-85ES PLUS. A few seconds later the relevant installer will run*. Click OK to select "English (United States)" for the language and then stay on the Welcome screen. Next, go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Temp in File Explorer, sort by "Date modified" and find the newest folder named with a GUID e.g. {8AEA8B95-FACE-46F9-A409-BCAE8E007A18}. Copy the MSI and MST somewhere else and then close the Welcome dialog box. Open the MSI with InstEd or Orca and apply the 1033.mst transform file. In the InstallExecuteSequence table, delete the row named InvaldInstallKey then save the MST (File » Save). Note. If you don't want the desktop shortcut to be created, go to the Shortcut table and delete the row with "DesktopFolder" in the Directory column. Deploy the emulator (MSI + MST) using whatever method you normally use to however many computers it is licensed for. Neither the MSI or calculator emulator check for the disc so you don't have to have it in your DVD drive to install the software or use the app. * You may need to temporarily disable your antivirus software to run the installer. ESET NOD32 blocks it due to the copy protection.
