Hi,

We have some machines that are off the network, but we need them machines to access to the printers on the network.

Everytime i set it up, when she logs off and logs back on, it's gone.

Is there anything i can do??

if you are setting them up as standalone logins to print to a network share , network authentication is required (user/pass to be same as network user)

you could install the printer with the printer port set to the network IP address of the printer (disable bidirectional support) so that the pc's can print direct to printer via the network ,without needing authentication.

I probably wouldn't do that as I've had problems where the printer would be unavailable to the print server if a user prints directly to it.

Is the printer added as a machine wide printer or a user only printer (default)?

It is a photocopier that alot of users use.

If your machines are network connected IE have an IP but are not on your Domain, then you can add a local printer using a Standard TCP/IP port, this should remain after logon/logoff. Otherwise use a script in local GP to add it on logon or startup?

I would run with a script on logon to re-add the printer. Also, if it's an IP printer, you can set up a port for the printer to point to the IP address avoiding the entire print share malarky. Of course, that entirely depends on your setup and how you use print management software e.t.c.
