There are three schools in the Foundation: the Senior School for pupils aged 11–18; the Junior School for pupils aged 7-11 and the Pre-Preparatory School for pupils aged 3–7. In September 2004, the School extended co-education to its entries at age 7 and the Sixth Form and in September 2006 girls were admitted at 11+. There are currently 1,350 pupils in the Foundation with over 400 girls in the three Schools. The School employs some 300 full-time teaching and support staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Include: Installing, maintaining and monitoring use of hardware and software Analysing and resolving problems Recording and responding to calls for assistance Developing and maintaining an inventory of IT equipment Monitoring and testing performance of IT systems and providing reports as required Supporting the development of IT systems Liaising with third party support and vendors Assisting in disaster recovery Providing guidance and support to other members of the support team Providing support and training to users PERSON SPECIFICATION The successful candidate must have: A degree in a technical IT related discipline (min 2:2). The ideal candidate will also: Have strong experience in all aspects of Windows server 2003 (including R2) and related features such as AD, DNS, DHCP, RIS, group policies, IIS and Terminal Services and a good knowledge of: Exchange 2003 Server Windows WSUS v3 Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003/Office 2007 A strong understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols A good understanding of network cabling (CAT 5/5e and fibre), switches, routers, security including Firewalls and VPN Any experience of Windows server 2008 and SIMS school MIS system will be an advantage.
