Resolution resetting after every reboot

Set up a new machine last night, it has a Intel G33 chipset I believe with the latest Intel GFX driver installed. (XP Pro SP3).

 

Anyway the problem is I set the resolution to 1280 x 1024, which is happily accepted however every time the machine is rebooted and logged in again the screen flickers and goes back to 800 x 600! I think the flicker means the graphic driver is loading but it is weird as none of our other machines are doing this...

 

Any ideas?

Check to see if igfxpers.exe is running at startup, if so remove the startup entry for it.

If that fails to help you could always put multires on a server and create some (logon) scripts to set the resolution to whatever you desire.
