Hi,

Does anyone on here us a Buffalo terrastation?

We got the iSCSI the other day and are having a few problems with it.

First of all it doesnt seem to like having more than one client connected to it, as if i put a file on it, it doesnt show up for the second computer thats connected to it.

So i switched iSCSI off, and though i'd use it as a normal NAS unit, there doesnt appear to be any share functions!?

Add to that, the firmware wont update! :(.

Any one got any ideas?

Thanks in advance all. :).

According to that review it only does iscsi and has no normal sharing available.

I didn't think it was a good idea to share an iscsi target between more than 1 machine?

I tried it with openfiler and found like you have that files aren't immediately available to the other machine if you disconnect the first and reconnect the second it will probably show up.

Is it this one? Buffalo Technology TeraStation Pro II iSCSI TS-I1.0TGL/R5 Review - Networking Reviews - TrustedReviews If so it might be worth having a read as they did find some limitations with it.

Yeah, its that one. :(.

lol. And i go the iSCSI version just so i had more options to play with! lol.

We ditched ours for the same reasons, we are recycling them into one freenas box utilising the hard drives as everything else is so femme.

How are you doing that?

Are the insides identical to the other Terastations? Im wondering if i can put the firmware of one of the other versions on it...
