If people could please vote, I would, like anyone who deals with staff training and SIMS would be most grateful. 0805-340678 Description: Reminders for First Aid Certificate end dates Notes: Reminder for First Aid renewals 0809-387189 Description: Global messages available from .net login Notes: Could a messaging system for staff logging in to SIMS .net be considered? I have schools who wish to send a message to multiple staff, perhaps all teaching staff, and would like the message(s) to be available when staff are logged in to SIMS .net. At the moment the only mechanism would be to set up a bulletin or a 'Message' category event on the diary.

You have a error message in SIMS, you contact your LEA, they say you need a patch. You check SOLUS and they've approved it to you. You need to get it done ASAP, you can then Message everyone on SIMS, either by the homepage or a popup or whatever. You can't do it as part of the login, as they would already be logged on. You can't email them as not everyone is logged onto email\has email, you can't net send them as you SHOULD have disabled this. It's just another communications method. Ideally you want it as well as all the current ways. I assume there is no arguements about the training expiring reminds, seems a bit of a waste to repeat the work by putting them into Outlook, unless SIMS wants to intergrate into Outlook?? PS: They wasn't logged by me, I've just found them and they look useful and I think Capita should do them, which means more people need to agree with me... note I'm not asking for your soul... yet

I'd rather they make some way to lock sims or kick out those in it. I just know if a message comes up they will just click OK or Cancel and think they will be ok for another 5 mins. Or they will have logged themselves in and gone home/gone for a drink so a message won't make any difference. & I think I missed the memo about disabling net send as we use it quite happily with no ill effects.

I would agree this functionality would be nice but since it ought to be possible to use external tools to do such a task I don't think that Capita will spend a lot of time on this. Equally there are more essential elemements of Sims that need to be fixed first. I would favour a gp controlled netsend which only allow SIMS machines to receive messages. But even this would not sort out staff that have left their machines at the homepage and gone off to do something else.

Yer, if they've left the computer logged into SIMS I think a shotgun to there head would be more efficent. Specially if it's unlocked! The cost of developing it over the cost of developing over things would be rather low. I really want to see them fix the Ethnic codes.... last time I checked you can't change your ethnic codes, so why does it remember by previous ethnic code etc? Bah, I'm ranting... VOTE FOR THEM lol.
