EMBC Search Engines

Does EMBC keep blocking Search Engines for other peoples sites or is it just ours?

 

They say that its a common problem on the network at the minute and is affecting several sites, this is not mentioned on WebView which leads me to think we're being 'spun a line'.

 

We've reported it over 7 times when it occurs (it is an intermittant fault) but they dont follow up calls

Basically Search Engines, eg Google, Lycos all the ones you'd expect except MSN and Wanadoo.

 

We have local control over filtering using their nsd.embc.org.uk portal which shows that the catagory isnt blocked.

 

You dont realise how much you need google!

well i can access it fine from leices may word with embc lea rep if they say several sites got it ask for master call ref and your local ref.

 

then ask when expected to be fixed and when dont give you any details ask them to found someone who can give you the detais

 

You get through to Carl once complained enough who is the helpdesk boss who nice bloke and and knows his stuff and will be able to give you the details.

lol, http://www.google.com was blocked by our ISPs filter last year under the category of "piracy"

are all the subdomains blocked? Tried some of the more obscure ones?

Yep, some even throws ups Access Denied - Not Catagory :S
