The browser appliance is a good one to give to those users who only have to look at a web browser to get it infected with allsorts

So a question for all the VMWare-ers here... why would I pay for Workstation (something I was looking at) when I can have Server for free?

You need a Server to run...uh..Server edition..

 

However, there's a Linux version of Server. So you could get round having to pay for anything that way I suppose.

Really? When I tried to install Server on XP it was moaning about IIS not being installed.

Well.... I had already installed IIS on my machine for another job.

It'll still install without IIS, you just won't be able to configure it with the fancy web interfaces.
