KB5124008 Breaking Networked Printers

Yesterday our computers installed KB5124008. Now they won't map any network printers, manually or through GPO. The drivers are pre-installed locally and the printers are mapped through GPO to a print server.

 

When we try and map, we get an error stating a policy is in place preventing it. No GPO changes.

 

Uninstalling the update fixes the issue. Anyone else being affected? I can't see anything from Microsoft to suggest this is an expected change?

Is this on specific printers? I've had similar updates in the past break printing for only Kyocera printers.

So far only Fargo DTC4500e card printers. Annoyingly while we are still enrolling. But most of our printers are MFDs through papercut, they are not affected.

Yes! 

Lol made an account here just to say that.  We have Xerox printers, we also use papercut (interestingly).  That exact patch is what we had to uninstall.  We couldn't add the printers to any new installs. Computers that already had it setup kept working as usual.  We tried opening a support ticket with MS but they said we needed to buy their premium support for that (lol).  Happy to see it's not just us!
