Just a FYI.

If you have had Papercut for a long time and upgrade to 26  and it doesn't work afterwards, you may find the Application Service refuses to start due to a legacy setting in the services.conf.

Legacy method of configuring memory allocation — error “unrecognized VM option”

Older sites may have configured allocations using the method below:

wrapper.java.additional.6=-XX:MaxRAMFraction=3

As documented above, this will cause Application Servers using version 26.0.2 and later to fail to start, with the error message unrecognized VM option logged in the service.log file.

On previous versions (version 25 and earlier) the Application Server will start, but the warning message: Option MaxRAMFraction was deprecated in version 10.0 and will likely be removed in a future release will appear in the service.log file.

We recommend updating your configuration to the percentage-based configuration above (see the “Adjusting memory allocation” sections).
