RANDOM - DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR A USED SMARTBOARD SB640

Hi everyone,

 

I'm hoping someone here can help.

 

I'm desperately trying to find a SMART Board SB640 that's fully working and in good condition. I know it's an older model, but I'm specifically looking for the SB640, as newer models unfortunately won't work.

 

The reason I'm looking for this particular model is that it's for my nephew, who's absolutely obsessed with SMART Boards. The smaller SB640 is the perfect size for him, which is why I'm trying so hard to track one down.

 

I've searched everywhere I can think of without any luck. If you have one sitting unused, know of a school or business that's getting rid of one, or have any leads at all, I'd be incredibly grateful.

 

I'm happy to pay a fair price and can collect depending on location or arrange shipping if needed.

We did have 2x SB680 Smartboards sat in storage for a few years.

 

Is that close enough OR does it HAVE to be the SB640?

unfortunately the 640 is the most ideal size - even a 660 is a little big  I know I have a needle in a haystack challenge on my hands.

hi thanks for your reply, yeah ideally the smartboard 640 - the Kapp series from memory is a standard whiteboard with smart capture features…so not really what I’m after.

 

I’d also take a Promethean 47”…although they’re harder to find than the SB640.

I've got SB680s, SB660s and SB560s, but sadly no SB640s

Hey there. Funny enough, I work for SMART Technologies in their marketing division. I’ve been asking around this past week if anyone knows of an SB640 lying around and we may have found one in our testing facility at headquarters in Calgary

Oh my goodness — this is absolutely amazing news! 😭 I honestly can’t tell you how happy I am to hear this. I’ve been searching everywhere for an SB640 for my nephew, so the fact that you may have actually found one is incredible!

 

I’m based in SE London, UK. I’m more than happy to cover any reasonable shipping costs and can absolutely arrange anything needed to get it sent over here.

 

I’ll also be completely honest and say that this is quite personal for me too. I grew up with interactive whiteboards in school and remember the transition from traditional whiteboards to Promethean and SMART Boards. I was always fascinated by them and have remained a huge fan of the technology ever since. I’m actually somewhat disappointed that interactive whiteboards seem to have largely been replaced by flat screens in many schools, as I always felt there was something much more engaging and exciting about the old interactive boards.

 

My nephew is absolutely obsessed with SMART Boards, so the SB640 would be perfect for him — particularly because of its smaller size. I think he would be completely over the moon to have one of his own, and honestly, so would I! 😂

 

Thank you so, so much for going out of your way to ask around and look into this. I genuinely really appreciate it. You may have just made my nephew’s entire year — and probably mine too! 😂

 

P.S. — I hope you don’t mind me cheekily asking one more thing… 😂 Do you happen to know whether there’s any chance you could also locate an FS640 floor stand for it, or potentially the table stand? Ideally, I’d love to find the floor stand if possible, but I appreciate that might be an even bigger ask! No worries at all if not — I’m already incredibly grateful that you’ve potentially managed to locate the board itself! 🙏🏾
