Bill said he was fed up with the whole MAC versus PC thing that has been playing for the last few years, so these adverts are designed to alter people's perception of Microsoft.

 

I guess that they are going for the whole bizarre/zany side of things, so maybe in a year's time after there have been 10 of them it'll have worked.

 

Only time will tell I guess.
