Theldron2.0 Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Hi all, I can't access my old Edugeek account after changing jobs in January, so have created a new account. My school use Civica Cashless Catering (server not cloud) and have a biometric scanner for registering student fingerprints. Does anyone have a guide on how to install all the software required for this, we have a rough thing put together for the Biometric reader setup, Bioreg install etc, but it's touch and go whether the install works, so was wondering if anyone had a proper step by step guide? I have contacted Civica and they do not have any guides, available and cannot create one for us. Any help would be appreciated. Boardian
mdrabble Posted May 21 Posted May 21 probably not very helpful but this is how we register students. We use the tills themselves to register students. on the first day in September, they have a small windows where all year 7 are taken down in form groups and registered on mass using 4 tills. tills are windows go tablets with the civics bio readers on, so very portable! seems to work quite well and doesn’t have any involvement from IT unless there are any issues. 1
Theldron2.0 Posted May 21 Author Posted May 21 @mdrabble Thanks for this. I think that is what we do at the start of the year, but when new students come to the school mid-term, we do it in our office. The tills are mobile and aren't always setup. We have a bio reader in our office, but Civica haven't got a standard setup guide. I asked an engineer and they are not willing to get one made up. Thanks
ITGuyNW Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Is this the trust-e installer stuff? We have migrated SIMS servers but they said we're not allowed to set it up ourselves and it will be a charge!

If you're within contract thought they wouldn't charge you for that change.
ITGuyNW Posted July 21 Posted July 21 As far as I know we are under contract (I'll double check) but apparently they no longer use trust-e but use Wonde instead and will sort it for us for the bargain price of £750 !!
ITGuyNW Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Just an update on this to make people laugh. Been waiting since July 21st for the biometric installation to be completed and they're still troubleshooting issues.
