powdarrmonkey Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I'm trying to find a way of loading the Smartboard 10 tools minimised into the tray, instead of having that stupid floating bar over the desktop icons, so that staff don't have to think about loading it to use the pens. Any ideas?
Heebeejeebee Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Smart are considering re-jigging this for the next version apparently. We had a chat with them just after we rolled it out last term because we thought it was a really stupid place to put it. We want it to be able to be put anywhere on the desktop and to have the option to not have it up by default. HBJB 2
alan-d Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 We uninstalled it and put the old one back on
powdarrmonkey Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Good to know, but did you find a workaround for the time being?
powdarrmonkey Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 @alan-d: I was afraid of that! It's a shame, there are some nice new features in it that we'd like to keep...
alan-d Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 There is no solution - apeo (also works here) was in contact all over the summer to Smartboard and the UK Rep to get a fix, but despite promises they now say it isn't available yet. Which meant we had a day to revert back to the old version. Basically they created it on a Mac and forgot to do the conversion for PC use.

Heebeejeebee Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 You can hide it but I'm not sure if it comes back on the next logon (right click and select hide). HBJB 1
powdarrmonkey Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Excellent, I'll see if I can script that Cheers.
arjay Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Hi Guys, Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SMART Technologies\SMART Board Drivers\Floating Tools] "FloatingToolsVisible"=dword:00000000 Keeps the freakn floating tools hidden by default 1
