Hi,

We have an issue where new users on our domain are kicked out within a minute of signing in to a new PC. Only appears to be Windows 11 machines (we still have a mix of 10 and 11).

The message "You are about to be signed out in less than a minute" appears then the PC restarts. Usually will happen once and then the user can log in again and it's fine.

Currently causes a lot of class downtime and loss of learning time so any ideas greatly received.

You should be able to see in event viewer what is triggering the restart... Look for event ID 1074 from User32 in the System log.

You could provide a shortcut to "shutdown /a" on the desktop as a very quick temporary workaround. Users would have to open the shortcut once the shutdown message appears.

I have seen this once before and it was a dodgy McAfee update. Only effected specific machines as they were switched on between the dodgy update and an updated version sent down. That was back in 2010 I think, a fun day, lol.

Caused a message and the PC restarted.
