chazzy2501 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Sorry to start a new thread on this topic of slow sims but my results may help people. I mentioned in another post how I was going to ask Wonde to sync only out of hours. Well, it was done for Monday and our admin staff are telling me that reports that took almost a minute are now done in seconds and I've had no calls about blue wheels at all this week... I'll keep posted but my original thought was that Wonde may be causing the occasional slowness with huge sql tasks (for my SIMS blue wheels about 2 calls a day) as we use classcharts and it syncs back to sims. I'd allocated massive ram, done all the SQL fixes and SIMS patches, Archiving, etc, Our CC were telling me to setup an SSD array (£nope£). None fixed the issues.. I only recently learned that Wonde was syncing throughout the day as I falsely assumed they only synced out of hours... Maybe this changed over the years? Wonde told me that they only sync every 2-3 hours but the results of out of hours sync seem to have improved the sims server all day... This is just our site and it has only been 4 days, no other changes have been made to the sims server. 3

enbiggen Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) ParentPay Group upgraded SQL from 2016 to 2022 over the holidays. The database name change meant that Wonde wasn't working, and this meant that Wonde didn't start working until Tuesday (fixed after school ended on Monday) - today we're having timeouts when changing pupil details, and I've discovered that someone was having timeouts yesterday (but no reports of time-outs on Monday). I've put in a ticket with ParentPay SIMS about this, and think it might be the same issue (due to the event timings). Edited April 15 by enbiggen Added a sentence to improve the context.
chazzy2501 Posted April 20 Author Posted April 20 Sorry for late reply, yes after changing Wonde to end of day all the timeout issues have gone and stayed gone.
