chazzy2501 Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 I see you can, if motivated, let copilot index traditional file shares and even an sql database (e.g. sims) anyone done this? File shares is pitched as allow copilot to look at local network files that you haven't yet migrated (gotta map ntfs perms to azure). The SQL one is rather interesting but as a school the only sql database we run is SIMS or 4 matrix. but asking which pupil has best attendance in copilot seem cool but not that valuable. (I assume everything is secure and credential mapping has to be setup)
BKGarry Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 I don't think you are allowed to let Third Parties, even copilot, have direct access to your SIMS SQL Server, as there is "proprietary code" in there, which was what the problem was with people migrating away from SIMS by giving them a database backup file.
