mikes Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Hi guys not sure if it is possible or not - a while ago I tested getting Chromebooks working with just G-SUITE and no other Internet access, I whitelisted the g-suite domains and blocked *.* for everything else, but I am not sure if this worked properly and never finished it. But now we are after having some available where they can only do g-suite work and nothing else - is this possible - is there a list of URL's to whitelist or any other way ? Thanks
jthompson Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 We use this as an allowlist. Try it and see whether you need to tweak anything. account.google.com calendar.google.com classroom.google.com cloudsearch.google.com contacts.google.com drive.google.com google.com/u/0/ac/images/logo.gif googleusercontent.com mail.google.com myaccount.google.com The logo.gif URL is for the org logo in the Google account menu, IIRC. I'm assuming that that's going to be the same for any tenancy. 1
jthompson Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Sorry, that's not quite complete. We use Smoothwall and so also include the categories "Connect for Chromebooks", "GoogleCDN" and "SSL/CRL" in our allowlist, in addition to the list above. What's actually included in those three built-in categories, I'm not sure. I've a feeling that they might be documented somewhere online.
mikes Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 Thanks - will give it a try! Will look into those categories as well
