Screenbeam 960 woes

Hi all,

 

We have recently invested in a Screenbeam 960 in every class with a view to teachers casting to those instead of plugging in to HDMI. Across the board, we have had no end of problems, including:

 

• Multiple connection attempts required
• Units stop advertising themselves
• Units reboot during a session
• Units drop the connection and require a re-connect - sometimes needing multiple attempts

 

Does anyone use these things successfully? At this point, any insight at all would be very gratefully received.

I cannot speak for those boxes directly, but speaking from experience many years ago I was not impressed with Screenbeam and had a lot of the issues you face today. However I have found, now using Airserver boxes that Miracast over Infrastructure when configured is much better than WiFi direct. Just connects faster and more stable from my experience using Airserver. Boxes are hard wired and Miracast stream is sent via the existing connection, the devices signal and connect speed need to be decent however.
