Jobos Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Our remote Inventry reader is not connecting. Anyone know how to fix it as so far it has been power cycled and connected to a different PoE switch but still the same? The main Inventry console is working fine.
36Degrees Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Damaged \ faulty cable from the unit to the switch? They are very easy to take apart and replace the cable if that is the case 1
Aprice Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Windows firewall turned on on inventry? That would probably break it! 1
TechMonkey Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 We had one die recently and it was the network module. No way to repair. Tried various things, contacted support and no possible course of action except buy a new one. If you take it off the wall you can disassemble it very easily to try troubleshooting but there really isn;t anything in them to poke at, just makes it easier to try a different port and cable. 1
Jobos Posted September 16, 2025 Author Posted September 16, 2025 Thanks for the help. I will probably remove the reader for testing and I had a quick look earlier when the fault was reported but there is a wooden sign glued right next to the reader blocking access to the screws! I have also reported the fault to Inventry so I expect they will want to sell us a new reader.
Jobos Posted September 29, 2025 Author Posted September 29, 2025 Update: Wow Inventry support was slow before but now it's crazy slow. When I reported the fault to Inventry on the 16th I included a photo of the reader same as the one above since then Inventry have requested a video of the fault with the reader in a boot loop. This was sent 6 days ago and heard nothing back since. Our finance department tells me it was fitted by Inventry 18 months ago so hoping it will be a warranty repair hence waiting for support.
Jobos Posted October 2, 2025 Author Posted October 2, 2025 Would you believe it, just over an hour from my last post I was contacted by Inventry saying they saw my post on EG and were very sorry for the delay and by close of play on Tuesday a new reader had been fitted. I can't fault the service when the right people get involved.
