Smoothwall - exception

Can someone point me in the right direction.

 

We currently use ConnectWise for remote support and need to put in exceptions within Smoothwall to allow it to communicate without any issues, where in Smoothwall does this need entering, we have inherited a setup from another provider and I am not that advanced with Smoothwall.  Also does anyone else use ConnectWIse and know the correct exceptions to put in as struggled to find the right details on their support site.

It depends how you have it setup in terms of best place to add it

Guardian -> Categories (or group depending how you have your staff setup) -> add to your allow list (or remove from your block again depending how you have it setup) -> Browse down to "Web and Infrastructure" -> Remote Access Tools -> ConnectWise

Whether you want to add it to a single group/user/whitelist whole lot etc, but there's already a premade category for it, so you just need to add to allow/remove from block on said groups

Give smoothwall support a shout, there are some rules that need to be added in the back end to stop you getting "too many redirects" or connectivity issues using RMM or ScreenConnect.

 

Depending on your setup you'll also need to allow (and/or not inspect) the web traffic and firewall ports to connectwise. I'll try and dig them up in a bit.

We add the IPs to an Address Object that is then used as an exception (somewhere, can't remember where but it adds it to HTTPS Bypass I'm sure) and also add it to Guardian > Web Filter > Exceptions > Manage destination exceptions.
