Hi,

Just got round to plugging in my upgraded BB from Vodafone and it's new wifi7 router.

Can't get it to work.. been on to the call centre twice who reinstalled the firmware remotely and went away for 20 minutes. Seemed to work for a second then dies . Connects via ipv6 so no ip 4 address for me to connect to the router which is weird. It did connect once as the last on the phone got me to reboot the router from the gui.

Anyone got one and is it working?

They are saying it's all working their side (reading from a script).

I've installed the dongle 4g backup but the internet lights are on so I imagine that won't kick in.

2 hours on chat.. they were taking over 5 mins to reply to anything.

2 possibilities as I've got it working now. 1. I unplugged the Google nest that lives next to it and more likely I unplugged my sat box that was hard wired into the router.

When I turned these both off and rebooted it's been stable... Put them back on and back to nothing...

I did add a static IP and managed to get into the router before.. going to need to add compatibility mode as my sat box doesn't see the new wifi.

Sky box? Which model?

you may be able to get it to connect then turn back off compatible mode and it may still connect. It’s that or disable 5ghz and force it to 2.4 and then turn 5ghz on again. I don’t know if the router lets you split your 2.4 and 5 ssid.

The best remote functions are going EOL soon aren’t they so the connection won’t be needed for that.

It's a freesat box.. it's whenever anything is plugged into the lan port it blocks the wifi and I have to reboot it.

My daughter's laptop won't connect either.

It's fast on the ones that do connect :)

EDIT: Adding the secondary wifi doesn't work.. still won't let me connect the Freesat box over WIFI on the secure or less secure one. .. allows me to hotspot my phone though.

Same issue (I think)
I have one of the newer 4k Arris Freesat boxes but it would not accept the Ethernet cable. If I tried to search on WiFi it just trashed the Internet connectivity on WiFi.

I tried all the "separate networks etc"

Freesat would connect to my Hotspot so I could rule out things like "name of SSID" or "characters in password"

My eventual fix was to plug back in my Tenda Mesh - setup a wireless on that called "xxx-freesat"
and Freesat connected to that no issue - and all seems OK.

Even though that Arris Freesat is maybe only 4years old - seems the Ultra 7 is just too smart for its own good

so I guess you can try similiar if you have any old Access Point / Mesh / Router that can sit between Freesat and Ultra 7.

The only thing I was yet to test was if a Cat6 Ethernet cable would have any more luck than my old Cat5 - and maybe that would let Ethernet work.
But TBH - at this point - it works - so I will just live with that I think.
