5nowman Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Hi, hope you are all having a good summer. We are having a crazy time with sims migration to server 2025 even a plain install - running simsinst.exe does the files and then just hangs at the end migration of the database - stuck on "install server application" have any of you had this issue? Very VERY odd. logged in as domain admin, shares have full permission. tried run as administrator Any ideas? 5nowman
MatthewL Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Can you disable any AV and try and install it?

I'll need to put it back on now... but I fear it might block aspects of sims again. Need to find a definitive list of folders to exclude There were no prompts or alerts! MatthewL Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 I often find it easier to leave AV to last when building servers for this reason. Nothing will prompt, you will need to exclude, there will be a list out there, typically its where the application and data is that tends to get the exception in, check out SQL ones, its data and logs off the top of my head from previous SQL experiences.

Make sure you read this for AV / sophos. I hate not having antivirus at the start... it should be the foundation of ANY os build! Thank you for your reply. 1
