On Prem Shared area to Teams/Sharepoint and permissions

Hi all

 

We currently have an on prem shared area for students. I am wanting to use Locker instead to automatically generate Teams for every class so they can be used for any document sharing.

 

As the Teams create a SharePoint site, what I've found that as students you can then start messing about in SharePoint, editing front pages of the class etc.

 

Is there anyway of globally setting students as read only of these SharePoint sites? When I have looked, the options are greyed out. I understand that Teams/groups are the holder of permissions and overrides SharePoint?

 

If anyone has been down this road and could give me any pointers that would be great..
