E_G_R2 Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Hi, OK we use BROMCO as our MIS For student absence requested (medical appointments etc) we use a MS Form to collect the basic details which goes to our attendance person. They now want to be able to upload files using this form as evidence of appointment. As far as I am aware people outside of our O365 will be unable to attach files to the form. Is there a product out there that will do the same thing (at a cost) rather than try and re invent the wheel.
E_G_R2 Posted July 21, 2025 Author Posted July 21, 2025 As I don't use it I don't know Anyone use this feature and point me in the right direction. Parents have to be able to use this.
Bromcom_Alec Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 Hello! Happy to help. Parents can upload files at the same time as absence reporting, via our My Child At School App. Here is a screenshot from the web version showing what appears when you report an absence through the page. 1

Hmm doesn't gather as much information as out attendance people would want but I'll let them know. They want to make the upload mandatory and do stuff like collect what time a pupil is being picked up, by who and other such 'safeguarding' stuff. 1
Bromcom_Alec Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 I would recommend you head to the Bromcom ideas portal and see if there is something similar already requested, raising an idea if not. It can be reached via the "i" in the top right of your MIS
ThomL Posted July 21, 2025 Posted July 21, 2025 I agree, it needs some tweaking. Our Attendance Officer highlighted that it would be better if you could select the date and then periods based from the school timetable could be chosen if less than 1 day (such as students going to a dentist, or missing the start/end of the day) with a harder to get to option to set explicit times and if whole days off it would revert to the view it currently has where parent just pick start/end dates. 1
bobsmith Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 also get your attendance officer to read the DfE rules on attendance - you can't demand evidence for every absence. 1
Synkrox Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 I thought the MCAS app side of this was still in development - haven't seen any release notes. Is it live now? Bromcom_Alec Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 I am seeing it on the current release, yes. If you are having issues getting it to work please contact our helpdesk.
Bromcom_ML Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 Just to add, the functionality to register a specific time is currently being worked on, and when released, should be in the Web Portal and App at the same time. 1

Just wondering - is this info in a roadmap somewhere or on the ideas area etc?
