CHiLL Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 We are migrating away from VMware to Hyper-V during the summer break and I'm looking at configuring the UPS. From what I can tell, APC have now introduced a licensed Hyper-V version, though the standalone version can be used for free. Currently, we have a PCNS virtual appliance that connects to vCenter and controls the priority orders, etc. The VMware virtual appliance is running v4.4.3. Does anyone have access to an equivalent version for Hyper-V, that doesn't have any licensing requirements? If so, would someone be able to send me the file(s)?
CrootUK Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 (edited) Just run the standalone version on os of each hyper-v server? what we do and it just works? doesnt need overcomplicating with a VM when on Hyper-V imo. Edited July 8, 2025 by CrootUK 1
Chris_Cook Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 How are you setting up your HyperV? If its not in a cluster, then the standalone version should work. You can just set the shutdown option for each VM to save or shutdown as you want. I think the paid for version is only for a failover cluster. 1

Thanks, I'll give that a go. 11 hours ago, Chris_Cook said: How are you setting up your HyperV? If its not in a cluster, then the standalone version should work. RobFuller Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Just purchased a 5 year licence for our servers, was little over £400. Seems reasonable for a critical service for your servers and support. 1
