timbo343 Posted June 7, 2025 Posted June 7, 2025 When our test user accounts log into Windows 11 they are missing the Camera and Calculator app even though when a local user of the system or domain admin account logs in, the 2 apps are shown on the start menu. During testing i've used the command to try to install the Windows Camera: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers *Microsoft.Windows.Camera* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "(_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose} however it doesn't seem to do anything. Does the basic domain user need access to the Windows Store for this to work because i'm pretty sure we block it. I am testing this against a test student account rather than a test teacher account but would be good to get this working. The test accounts are using local profiles so it's not like mandatory or roaming profiles are causing the issue here. Taking the machine offline and testing with a local basic user, the camera and calculator apps are shown in the start menu list of apps.
timbo343 Posted June 7, 2025 Author Posted June 7, 2025 Think I found the answer from @thebicesterschool. To solve your issue of missing applications, change the GPO setting "Allow deployment operations in special profiles" to Enabled. Located in Computer Configuration/administrative Templates/Windows Components/App Package Deployment. https://www.edugeek.net/forums/topic/165160-windows-10-all-apps-list-missing-apps/#findComment-1501324
