Good evening,

 

Really struggling with how to expand the C:\ drive of a VM to the unallocated space because the unallocated space is not immediately to the right of the C:\ drive (some sort of health recovery partition in the way).

 

I incorrectly assumed that because the VM is on Azure Arc (HCI) I would be able to do it there somehow but can't even see the disk using that method so resorted to failover cluster manager but getting nowhere.

I might be wrong but I don't think thats an azure thing - it's a windows O/S thing.  You can only expand the C drive using disk management or diskpart if there are no other partitions behind it.

 

I think you can use third party apps to do it - back in the old days it was partition magic not sure if thats still a thing.  I only create one partition per dedicated virtual disk so never get the problem of multiple partitions appearing behind.
