Moneysoft Money Manager - permissions problems.

Hi.

I'm currently in the latter stages of completing a brand new network build, im upto getting some software that the business manager bought under my recommendation a week ago (previous version was the DOS one! ).

 

Anyway, im finding that unless im accessing the program as domain administrator, that i cant run it, that it throws up 'cant access, permission problem' errors.

 

Ive tried everything under the sun to get it to work:

- Running off a network drive with permissions as everyone full control.

- Running off a network drive with permissions as staff full control.

- Running off a network drive with permissions as user full control.

- Hiding the files/folders

- Un-hiding the files/folders

- Running it off its own share.

- Running it off the main app share.

- Changing ownership.

- Adding creator owner to the permissions.

- Installing to a C: drive.

- Running off C: drive with permissions as everyone full control.

- Running off C: drive with permissions as staff full control.

- Running off C: drive with permissions as user full control.

- Granting read/write/view access to C:

- Setting the user as a local power user.

- Setting the user as a local backup user.

- Setting the user as a local admin user.

- Mandatory profiles

- Roaming profiles

- Local profiles

 

Ive phoned their technical support and they were useless. Just telling me to check the permissions because it sounds like a permissions problem (well duh! it did say permission problem in the error!).

 

Anyone got any ideas?

This problem is fixed now. Group Policy was preventing users from accessing 16-bit applications. It would appear that while this programme is a new (and officially 32-bit) version of the old DOS-based incarnation, it still has some 16-bit components lying around somewhere...
