SigninApp - Wonde - Bromcom and sorting Teaching/non Teaching groups

Anybody using sign in app with Wonde integration & Bromcom?

We've managed to sort the students into year groups instead of just "Students" ( i think sign in app did this). But we need to do something similar for Staff. Mainly Teaching/Non-Teaching.

This is mainly because the staff members have different evacuation points and we want the groups to sync with the Sign in app central record.

Anybody managed to do this?

Thanks

That's getting very specific and certainly going to be "strange" according to an off the shelf product. It's worth getting in touch with their support as they're receptive to making changes or helping out with things like this, but staff evacuation points should only ever differ with their current location and not down to their job title surely?

Our evacuation point lacks both Wi-Fi and mobile data connectivity, making the use of digital tools unreliable in an emergency. Our staff are reluctant to install work-related applications on their personal devices, which i understand. This necessitates the use of locally printed reports for accountability during an evacuation.

The core of the issue stems from how our sign-in app manages evacuation points. As it stands, the app links groups directly to a single evacuation point. Currently, all staff members, are synchronised from Bromcom via Wonde into a single 'staff' group within the sign-in app, are assigned to one evacuation point (let's call it Point A).

However, our required evacuation protocol is more nuanced:

  • Teaching staff who have form registers need to proceed to Evacuation Point X.
  • Teaching staff who do not have forms should go to Evacuation Point Y.
  • Non-teaching staff are designated to Evacuation Point Z.

My initial thought was to create separate groups within the sign-in app to reflect these distinctions and manually manage their membership. Unfortunately, the app seems to only allow the creation of entirely new member instances, preventing me from adding existing members from the Wonde-synced 'staff' group into these new, specific evacuation groups.

Ideally, the most straightforward and efficient solution would be to use the sign-in app!

Don't apologise, not a problem :)

As you say it's quite nuanced and I don't fully understand the setup; in an actual emergency there should be no or very limited movement between evacuation points, and one or more of those points might not even be available. I wonder if therefore it doesn't need to be a technological thing?

For example, there isn't wifi in the areas but SIA will provide an evacation list & report for printing immediately upon pressing the evacuate button, could this then be printed and handed out?

Or keeping it tech related, you don't actually need wifi access I believe - so could you have let's say 3 ipads for this purpose, all kept charged and running with the sign in app installed. They don't need connectivity to run or sign people in or out, they will re-sync when a connection happens again. Might be worth testing.

(I'm following this closely as we've a far simplier setup with one single evac point, and we've just fitted external wifi for this very purpose).

Our currently setup is this during evac:

IT Support prints fire evac from Bromcom for student. this prints form group registers. Office staff prints evac list from inventy (currently). this is separated into:-

  • Current Visitors
  • Associate Staff
  • SEN/TA staff
  • SLT
  • Teaching staff (no forms)
  • Teaching staff (with forms)

We're looking to replicate with sign in app without the use of the shared evac lists (app) and rely on printed local lists.

Sign in app is just printing one long staff list at the moment, as the evac list is group based.

So i'm not sure if i'm going to be able to do it.

I have already request help from sign in app, but i posted here are responses are quicker! lol
