People think all our jobs are so easy and anyone can do it easily - until them up top have to do it themselves and theres the monumental eye opener - I've got 3 x SLT shadowing the cover manager and they're still confused.  "agencies will be phoning me at 6am?  What??"

Sadly is all too common at the minute by the look of things, know the current year 6 is low on numbers nation wide which will have a knock on effect. Add in things like VAT, NI increase, Living Wage and then Boarding market is becoming very difficult with costs of visas planned to go up. All in all not a pleasant time.

The sheer amount of applicants I've seen for a tech role that have been made redundant or companies going under is showing it's worse out there than it has been for a long while

Memories of a school near ours - shaky financially with lowish numbers, rescued by parents and then collapsed again soon after. Sad bit has been going to the clearance auctions - some useful kit sometimes though you feel like a vulture feeding on the carcass. Saddest was to see the honours boards of sport captains and heads of school which nobody would buy but which would have sentimental value.
