Automated Report Scheduling - SIMS

Hi there,

 

I wanted to find out if anyone out there utilises the automated report scheduling within SIMS. I am in the process of getting this up and running but wanted to put this out here for anyone that might have already done this successfully and wanted to share their successes and failures

We run one every night for all tutors showing them merits to date. Once you get the server bit sorted in the windows task scheduler, it runs automatically via Sims. Ours took a bit of tweaking, mainly making sure the account and password it's using is correct. What I don't like is having to make 77 of the same report, one for each tutor group and assigning each to the relevant tutor. Teachers need to make sure they have My Scheduled Reports as a panel on their home page. I always tick to delete previous report otherwise no one deletes and you get 100 reports on each. I make one for me too so I can see if it's run every morning.

As above ^ . There should be a Quick Reference Guide on how to do the setup for the automated task, which is the tricky bit, along with setting up a SIMS user to run the jobs and a network user to run the task.
