Mark_VdB82 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Hi all Just wondering if anyone has or knows where I might find National data for AS level Metrics. I have subject grade summary data but I'm looking for any data to suggest APS, % with 1,2 or 3 A-E grades, Value Added - so effectively the A Level measures but at the half way point. Trying to help a new sixth form free school set targets and some national data would be extremely useful. Thanks
LosOjos Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Have you looked at the National Statistics website? I think their data is what you're looking for (although they haven't published for 12/13 yet, latest is 11/12): https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/department-for-education/series/statistics-a-as-levels-key-stage-5
Mark_VdB82 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Thanks for that, unfortunately I had looked and still cant see anything on there about APS per student and entry for AS only, it only appears to display it for A2
tben2505 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 You can easily derive the APS from the percentages, as they tell you the no. of entries, so 10% of 100 pupils getting an A is obviously 10 pupils, = 600 points, cayying on through each grade with Excel formulas and an APS can be achieved; trend it over the years and match it to yours for subject comparisons
CaterinaAnna Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Takes a bit of mashing up of data from various sheets, but the level 3 VA ready reckoner has the relevant coefficients.
Mark_VdB82 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Hi Thanks for the responses. I've managed to get a few things from the SFR and asked if I could have some of the tables recreated for AS only which they duly obliged to. When is the Level 3 Value Added report released this year - does anybody know?
NormalDistribution Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 It's already out and available via the checking tables website.
