Ecclesbury Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Hi all, I thought it might be useful to some to put together a collection of sources for national data, as I know I get requests for stuff like this all the time. Currently I'm only aware of the DfE research and stats portal here: Research and Statistics : Department for Education RAISE online will also provide some useful national KS4 data, particularly the raw transition matrices which can used to calculate 3 and 4 level progress figures. I'd be interested to hear of any other sources of national statistics. I'd be particularly interested to know if there is any way to find level progress informatino (such as transition matrices) for KS2 to KS3. I've got a feeling this might not exist anywhere, but it would be great to get my hands on it!

All Departmental Publications are now held on the Departments main website Please update your bookmarks, as this site will be closed on 31 March 2013. This is a real shame because I was used to the SFR website. Nonetheless this is the new link: Official statistics - Data, research and statistics Another useful source of data I use is EPAS - www.epas.org.uk You can get a whole manner of useful stuff from EPAS - but alas not KS2-3 Progress. You have to access it via your LA who can set you up with your own username and password. It costs £250 p.a. but it is worth it, particularly as it has some national* data published early on in september. *Strictly it is not national, but I find it very close - it is the aggregate of the LAs results who subscribe to the National Consortium of Exam Results. Which is most of them.
