bennuk Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Hi everyone, Has anyone had a stab at getting Linux machines connected to Active Directory? I installed Likewise Open today which is working pretty well, but had a lot of heavy config to do to get it to connect to our corporate network in the office. What (if anything) do other people do?
nashbridges Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 We offer our AD directory over LDAP and let the linux boxes authenticate against that for general users. For AD, we have to manually add the users to a group on the server they want to connect to. After that, PAM takes care of the rest. We don't have any Samba shares offered to the public on our linux boxes, so I'm not sure if this applies to your environment.
