Microsoft Office Clipart Issue

We have a student who has been using word and searched for "i love my brother" on the online pictures option (insert/pictures/online pictures), in the search results there is a cartoon picture of someone slitting their wrists with i love my brother next to it, is there any way of stopping this image from appearing?

You can go to the picture (In word), mouse over it to reveal the three dots. Click on that, and report as "Offensive content", as I have just done.

Thank you i have done this as well, was just hoping that there was a way of removing it from the online pictures list sooner

use fiddler to identify the specific url of the image and block that using your filtering platform? (I've no idea if clipart uses static URL, but if it does that should work)

I pulled out the url from Properties, and it looks to be dynamic:

For the origin of the actual image, I get h t t p s : / / art.ngfiles.com/images/1392000/1392127_manelmartirano_i-love-my-brother-remake.jpg plus there's a ?f1597724199 after it...

 

This appears to be a storage server for the website https://www.newgrounds.com/

 

A Google reverse image search also shows the files in Deviant Art (which we have blocked): h t t p s : / / w w w .deviantart.com/manelmartirano/art/I-Love-My-Brother-Comic-Espaol-856121955

 

We have blocked the domain 'art.nglfiles.com' and that seems to stop it on a Bing Image Search alone, but that image still comes through on the Word/Bing search.

 

Interestingly when I go to download/insert it though it fails.

 

To go nuclear... Word > Word Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options > Privacy Settings - Untick 'Turn on optional connected experiences' and make them copy/paste, snip or save a picture from a 'web browser of your choice' image search (can't seem to find it easily on Google Images)...

 

I don't know what else this breaks or if there is a GPO to roll out.

Just to add an extra option depending on your set-up and whether you think you can fend off the 'you are impacting T&L' accusations...

 

I do seem to remember that I was concerned about the online picture search a very long time ago and unticked it on install iirc, luckily we are a small school and all my installs are manual (yes, I know), but I think it did break other things (possibly templates and other online content from Office).

 

There is a GPO to stop Office connecting to the internet, but that could also stop other things...

 

* Do not allow Office to connect to the Internet – Office applications do not connect to the Internet to access online services, or to download the latest online content from Office.com. Connected features of Office 2016 are disabled.

I think at the time I did a lot of research and found this somewhere:

 

It disables the Online Picture Search in the toolbar!

 

Now I know it says it's for Office 2016 and I'd forgotten it was so long ago, but we are now on Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 and I've just looked at one of the student computers and the button is still greyed out.

 

Of course if you're using the online O365 version I have no idea if you can achieve similar results somehow.

 

Now... on to 'Insert Online Videos'... I wonder if that bypasses any filtering...?
