Hi all,

We have a school owned iPhone that is sometimes used for parent communication on trips etc. All has been working fine with it in the last few years, however recently Whatsapp threw up a message to say 'This account can no longer use Whatsapp' and if we beleived this to be an error to submit a manual request for review.

We've done this about 20 times so far...the request gets accepted and Whatsapp is then reinstated, but as soon as you try to send a message to someone the message to say this account can no longer use Whatsapp comes up again.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and knows why we're seeing this? We've tried resetting phone, changing SIM, reinstalling Whatsapp. There doesn't seem to be an actual human you can talk to at Whatsapp to try and figure out whats going on so really feeling a bit stuck at the moment.

Any advice on input on this would be much appreciated!

I've seen this in the past and in that instance related to the volume of messages being sent over a brief period of time and the fact the recipients didn't have the sender as a saved contact so the sender was perceived to be a SPAM account.

We had this too when our pastoral team all got work phones. Happened a few times when they first got the phones, then it stopped happening.

I think we did add all of their numbers to their contacts, worth a try
