CCTV, Paxton and a Dell miniPC are wired, staff & guest WiFI inc the bar tills are wifi. Router is Icotera from BRSK ISP. We've got a problem whereby iOS devices work absolutely fine on the wifi but Windows tablets/laptops and the Dell PC will not browse anything. Googling last night, I found this post (https://forum.netgate.com/topic/143345/potential-dns-issue-on-windows-10-pc-s/6) which i'm confident is the issue, manifesting differently due to their custom pfSense setups. If I run "nslookup www.bbc.co.uk" I get a response from an IPv6 server with result 198.18.1.1 - which is a private address scheme similar to 169.254.*.* If I run "nslookup http://www.bbc.co.uk 8.8.8.8" I get a normal set of BBC IPs. If I go on my laptop to Network Connections > Local Area Network 1 > Properties, and untick the IPv6 entry, browsing starts working on my laptop, which confirms it is related to IPv6. The problem is, I know two things about IPv6, neither of which help me: 1) It's bigger than IPv4. 2) It has colons instead of dots. Can anyone guide me where to start looking / what piece of IPv6 knowledge I need to learn and understand to know what's going on here? TIA! Peter Edited December 20, 2024 by howartp

I can on the Dell PC as that's in-house, but we hire the rooms out for meetings and events so need any $guestDevice to work on the wifi out of the box.

Should work I'd think. Unless anything is DYING for an ipv6 address but I can't think on the face of it that'd break anything.
