jimmy210195 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 In the summer we upgraded our iMacs to new fancy 2023 Macs with wired USB-C Xtreme Mac keyboard and mice. They are currently running Sonoma and one or two are now on Sequoia as we test. This week we've had 5 keyboards in one room (25 iMacs) have to be replaced as they were typing incorrect characters or multiple characters with a single button. I checked the keyboard settings on the Macs and they look ok plus if I plug a different keyboard into them then it works. I am wondering if anybody has seen this before with this brand or has any idea to fix? It seems strange for so many to go in the space of a week but having checked the OS of the machines that are working compared to those which aren't, they are the same. I am waiting on a response from our supplier but I am concerned the issue is going to continue to spread in the meantime!
RLR Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 We purchased 25 new Macs this year and also had these keyboards/mice sugested to us. They seem very low quality but I guess you get what you pay for. I've not had any issues yet with them but one was delivered without an F1 key! Ours are only a few months old so still early days for us.
jimmy210195 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Very true. We've only had ours in use since September and didn't have any issues until this week. It just feels odd that 5 have gone in a single week, in the same room, whilst two other rooms of 25 seem unaffected currently. Feel like I must be missing something! I've reached out to Xtreme support so hopefully they'll respond.
